About Us

Our Students

We have 150 PreK – 6 students. Our students come from a four-county area that includes parts of Marion, Morrow, Union, and Delaware counties. Enrollment is made up of 47% girls and 53% boys: 58% of our students come from faiths other than Catholic.
Whites make up 89% of our ethnic background while 11% are Asian black /African –American, Hispanic , and Multiracial . Our students come from the Marion City Schools, as well as six other school districts including Elgin, Pleasant, Ridgedale, River Valley, North Union, Mt. Gilead, and Cardington . The majority of our parents are high school graduates with some college education. They are laborers, professionals, and business owners.

Our Educators

Our highly qualified faculty includes 14 professionals with an average of 17.5 years teaching experience. Thirty five percent of our teachers have master’s degrees in education. All teachers meet rigorous and ongoing professional development standards. All classroom teachers and the principal have advanced certification in religion. We pride ourselves on individual attention for each student, with a teacher-to-ratio of 1:20.

Our Curriculum

Our students enjoy a rich and broad curriculum that includes religion, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and reading. In addition we have support and enrichment programs, including Accelerated Reading and Math, and a resource reading teacher. Each classroom has a smartboard and all students have weekly computer classes in the lab. We also, provide a resource teacher for individuals and small group instruction.

Our Extracurricular Activities

There are many opportunities for parents to become involved, from volunteering during the school day to helping with special events for the Home & School Association. This parent organization is active throughout the year with projects, fun raisers, and initiatives that help make St. Mary School an effective community of learners.

Our Investment

Investing in your child’s elementary school education will pay dividends for beyond the 6th grade. In partnership with you, we foster life-long learners who grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. Tuition rates vary depending on financial need, parish membership, and number of children within a family enrolled at St. Mary. The tuition rate for 2012-2013 is $2460 for participating and $3850 for non-participating. Tuition assistance is available from the Diocese of Columbus, St. Mary Parish, and Father Fury
