Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe, but we are coming to the end of another school
year. It's been a great year and we appreciate all of the support
you have given. Your commitment to your/children has truly added to
the success of St. Mary School.
The following students in Mrs. Sheridan's fifth grade class were
honored on "Academic Day" at the Palace Theater: Colton Heth,
Scarlet Purtee, and Eric Romero. Congratulations!
Parents may order Summer Solutions workbooks in Math, English Grammar and Writing Mechanics, and Reading Comprehension. This is a great way to maintain your child's academic progress through an ongoing and consistent practice over the summer months.
Another great summer activity would be to get involved in the Marion Public Library Summer Reading Program. They have many wonderful books and fun activities. This year's theme is "Get Hooked on Reading" and they will learn about pirates. St. Mary students who complete the program will be receiving a free T-shirt and a jean's day pass.
Parents may register their child for St.Mary Preschool for the
2010-2011 school year. They must be 4 years of age by August 1,
2010.
Marion Catholic High School will host a uniform sale on Tuesday, June 8th from 11:00-2:00 p.m. in their cafeferia. An additional sale day is scheduled for Sunday, August 15th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. St. Mary uniforms will be included in this sale.
Congratulations to Mr. Blue's second graders who received their First Communion on Sunday, April 25th. Thirty eight children in our Parish were included in the class, which also included eighteen from St. Mary School. The class picture is posted on the St. Mary School website.
On behalf of the school staff and myself, I'd like to wish you and
your family a safe and enjoyable summer!
Yours truly,
Mr. Rush, Principal
