Home and School Mission Statement:
Through fundraising and family activities, we will promote positive school/community relationships that enhance our children’s educational environment.

We will do this by;

  • Providing $12,000 annually for tuition assistance.
  • Providing support for our students’ educational, social and emotional needs.
  • Providing open communication among faculty and parents.

Dear St. Mary Parents,

Welcome!  We are all excited about our upcoming school year.  As parents, we can better our children’s educational experience by supporting fundraising efforts, volunteering in classrooms, participating in family events, and being willing to lend a helping hand when and where needed.  We encourage all of you to get involved.

We are havingseveral fundraisers again thisyear, Mumkins, Cookie Dough, a Spring Flower Sale andRelay for Education.  Our annual fundraising goal is $12,000 for tuition assistance.  That has proven difficult to reach with just two fundraisers.  As families, you can choose to participate in all or just two.  In offering a variety of things to sell, we hope that you will have something you believe in offering to your friends, families and co-workers so that the sales will be very successful.  Students at Marion Catholic will be participating in the fundraisers also.

We have other activities to try and help reach our goal, The Holiday Bazaar, which will be at the John M. Boler Activity Center on November 13th and the K of C Valentine’s Dance on February 12th.  We will need volunteers and participants at both of these events to try and generate monies for tuition assistance.

In addition to our big fundraisers, St. Mary’s participates in some national programs such as Box Tops 4 Education, Campbell’s Labels for Education, Market Day, SCRIP, etc.  We have included information on all of these programs in this package.  We appreciate your support!

Home and School will be holding monthly meetings.  We will meet on the first Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. at Panera Bread starting in October.  Our first meeting will be on Wednesday October 6th at 7:00pm.  This is a great opportunity to meet new friends.  A complete listing of meeting dates can be found on the Home and School Calendar.

We are going to do the Parent Directory again this year.  Please fill out the Parent Directory Information Form found on the last page and return by September 4th to Diane Jankowski through your child’s backpack.

We are looking forward to another great year at Marion Catholic Schools.

With Irish Pride, Your Home and School Board
